National Trails Day 2016
May 20, 2016
The Pacific Northwest Trail Association joins the American Hiking Society, many organizations, and thousands of volunteers celebrating National Trails Day Saturday, June 4, 2016. For trail work parties on the PNT click here.
National Trails Day aims to highlight the important work volunteers do each year to take care of America’s trails. Trails do not just magically appear for our enjoyment; their construction and maintenance takes hours of dedicated planning and labor. So give thanks to your local volunteers and consider taking a day to give back to your favorite trail - the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail.
On National Trails Day think how trails support good physical and mental health, provide us with a chance to breathe fresh air, get our hearts pumping, and escape from our stresses. All it takes is a willingness to use them the first Saturday in June and every other day of the year.
