The Pacific Northwest Trail Association is currently seeking applications for our 2024 season.

Performance Trail Crews help build and maintain the PNT, one of America’s newest and wildest national scenic trails. Trail crew members spend the summer working outdoors traveling to worksites in spectacular wild places across the Northwest. Learn more about our Performance Trail Crew Program here. The Pacific Northwest Trail Association is now accepting applications for seasonal Trail Crew Leaders and Assistant Crew Leaders for the 2024 season.

The PNTA is looking for dedicated environmental stewards with a passion for education and working with young people. Crew Leaders must have a strong desire to actively engage in a field-based, trails program that will train, challenge and support participants’ in their work and professional development.

This is an opportunity to protect and enhance America’s newest and wildest national scenic trail, work in spectacular settings and do challenging and meaningful work by providing valuable life experiences for the next generation of outdoor leaders.

Performance Crew Leader

Region of Work:  Pacific Northwest (Eastern Washington)
Station: Kettle Falls, WA
Type: Full-time, seasonal position
Dates: May-September, 2024

Crew Leaders are responsible for managing teams of 3-6 youth and young adults on trail maintenance projects in the backcountry which last up to ten days. Some projects may involve working with volunteers or working in the frontcountry. The season typically runs from May-September but may be shorter or longer depending on weather and funding.

Assistant Crew Leader

Region of Work:  Pacific Northwest (Eastern Washington)
Station: Kettle Falls, WA
Type: Full-time, seasonal position
Dates: May-September, 2024
