PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A uniquely satisfying way to enjoy a day outdoors — combining exercise, community service, camaraderie and backcountry camping.

The Shedroof Divide 512 and Grassy-Hall Divide 533 are in need of a reboot.  Volunteer to assist our experienced crew leaders by pruning back the ever-encroaching brush, busting out the slough and berms to widen the trail, and reshaping its surface so that it drains properly.

Backpacking/ backcountry experience is required, as the team will overnight (Friday and Saturday) on the trail so we can get to those way back, hard to reach places. The project is rated “difficult” due to the backcountry setting for the work party. The trailwork is relatively easy and suitable for beginners. Volunteers will need to hike several miles along rugged steep trails. Volunteers will need backpacking equipment and skills for backcountry camping for three nights.

The PNTA will reimburse volunteers for meals, $15/ day and provide tools and PPE, e.g. safety glasses, hard hats, gloves, ear plugs.
