SUMMARY:Pack Support — Louden Lake — Pack In
DESCRIPTION:\n\nProject Profile\n\n Region: Pasayten Wilderness\n Experie
nce: Experience Recommended\n Ages: adults\; 16–17 with guardian conse
nt\n Difficulty: Difficult (due to hike length)\n Hike Length: over 6 mi

ct Type: Pack Support\n\n\n\n\nProject Description\nYou can help a PNTA Pe
rformance Trail Crew maintain the PNT in the Eastern Pasayten Wilderness b
y providing pack support. Our trail crews work in the backcountry for 7–
10 days at a time. With your help we can empower our hardworking crew to s
pend more time and energy on trail work!\n\nOn this pack-in trip volunteer
s will load up with gear and supplies\, and depart from the Goodenough Tra
ilhead early on Saturday morning.\n\nOur trek is eight miles (one way) wit
h 1600' in elevation to the spike camp at Louden Lake. The crew will be wo
rking to restore the Boundary Trail in an area that was impacted by the 20
23 Crater Creek Fire.\n\nConsidering the long journey we have ahead of us\
, volunteers should plan to arrive the evening before\, or spend the night
in the area. A fee-free campground is available just down the road from o
ur trailhead.\n\nThis long journey is best suited for equestrian stock sup
port\, who will be our first priority to recruit. But backpackers are welc
ome to sign up as reservists to offer their support in the absence of eque
strian volunteers. Backpacks can be provided upon request.\nOther Ways to
Volunteer\nIf a long hike into the wilderness is not for you\, but you wou
ld still like to get involved\, we would welcome volunteers who can serve
as a Tailgate Host— to prepare food and greet these weary helpers with a
warm meal at the end of a long trek.\nProject Details\n\n PNTA Last Work
