Project Description

With your help, we’ll keep this popular trail system near Newport, Washington in great shape. Volunteers will work alongside PNTA crew leaders during the event. Our crew leaders may work on a project for the whole day, but volunteers are welcome to participate for as long as they like.

There are many fun ways to get involved. Tasks may include:

  • Conservation: litter collection and removal, invasive weed removal
  • Brush work: lop or hand saw the saplings, branches and bushes that grow too close to the trail, then move cut materials to the trailhead so the crew leader can haul them away*
  • Trail maintenance: touch up the surface of the trail and its drainage features
  • Construction: of fences, gates, kiosks and signs
