tion\nAre you interested in group hikes and learning how trails are made?
Join us at Sherman TR 012 for a fun and easy day of outdoor learning!\n\nA
t this Trail Eyes 101 event\, volunteers will receive training in basic tr
ail concepts and engage in hands-on learning as we restore a short section
of this trail to spec. We will cover core safety principles for trail wor
kers\, introduce basic trail anatomy and mechanics\, and demonstrate tread
maintenance techniques.\n\nOur outdoor classroom for the day is Sherman T
rail: an essential feeder trail that accesses the PNT in the Kettle River
Range\, a quick drive east of Republic. We will begin with a short hike (l
ess than 1.5 mi) at a comfortable pace\, pausing to discuss what we see al
ong the way\, then engage in light trail work to practice our new skills.\
n\nThis is the one of the shortest hikes up to the crest of the gorgeous K
ettle River Range. We'll be sure to take time to enjoy the day strolling b
eneath the trees\, bathing in the fresh forest air that babbles down mount
ain streams\, and taking in the views of the Okanogan Highlands to the wes
t.\n\nNo experience necessary\; the PNTA provides tools and PPE. See Resou
rces (below) for Frequently Asked Questions and daypack recommendations.\n
