Don Lemon breaks down on air after Chris Cuomo's coronavirus diagnosis
CNN anchor Don Lemon broke down in tears on Tuesday night while talking about his fellow news anchor and dear friend Chris Cuomo, who had earlier announced that he tested positive for coronavirus.

'Sorry, I said I wasn't going to do this... He's probably at home laughing at me,' Lemon said before detailing his close friendship with Cuomo.
'Chris and I are really good friends, we live near each other,' he continued.

'When I walk into work everyday I have to walk by where Chris is so I usually go to his office, sometimes I bring the dog, and we just say hello. Anyways he's not here and we have this great relationship,' he added.
Cuomo announced earlier on Tuesday that he tested positive for COVID-19 and suffered symptoms of a fever, shortness of breathe, and chills.

The contagious virus has proliferated dramatically in the US with over 189,000 cases and over 4,000 deaths reported so far.
Lemon also became emotional earlier in the broadcast during an interview with Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, which offered her best wishes for Cuomo's health on air.
'Give Chris our best, we're all rooting for him, and thank you, Don,' Durkan said.
'Thank you. I said I wasn't going to do this. Thank you very much. Thank you,' Lemon said overcome with emotion.

Cuomo announced his diagnosis in a tweet on Tuesday
'That's my guy,' Lemon said. 'You know that. And so it's been really tough. I've been distracted all night because I've been thinking about it. I was really worried about him.'
Cutting to commercial Lemon said: 'I can't read that. We'll be back.'

'We know this is very serious. So when I got the call earlier this morning, it said Christopher Cuomo, I was like, oh boy, here we go. But I was actually on a business call so I told you I'd call you back, I called you right back and I knew what you were going to tell me,' Lemon said.
'You're a strong guy, so I know that you'll be fine,' he added.
'l'll tell you what I feel badly about and this is why I want you to avoid this. It's not being sick. I'll deal with it. Whatever it is, it is. So many people have it so much worse. I don't believe that that's the way I'm gonna go,' Cuomo said.

Lemon ended the interview asking if Cuomo received a gift he said - a six pack of corona beer.

'Sooooo in these difficult times that seem to get more difficult and complicated by the day, I just found out that I am positive for coronavirus. I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fever, chills and shortness of breath,' he said.
