Project Description
Are you interested in group hikes and learning how trails are made? For a fun and easy day of outdoor learning, join us on the PNT at Southside TR 308, on the slopes of Mount Bonaparte between Tonasket and Republic.
At this Trail Eyes 101 event, volunteers will receive training in basic trail concepts and engage in a hands-on learning experience as we restore a short section of PNT to spec. We will cover core safety principles for trail workers, introduce basic trail anatomy and mechanics, and demonstrate tread maintenance techniques.
In the afternoon we’ll pause for a 30-min lunch break and enjoy splendid views of the Okanogan Highlands Kettle River Range beyond.
No experience necessary; the PNTA provides tools and PPE. See Resources (below) for Frequently Asked Questions and daypack recommendations.
