Harts Pass Trailhead

The Harts Pass Trailhead provides access to the Pasayten Wilderness, Pacific Crest Trail #2000, and Pacific Northwest Trail.
DIRECTIONS
From Mazama, Washington head north on the Lost River Road NF-5400. In 9 miles, turn right on NF-5400 and begin climbing toward Harts Pass in 8.7 miles. This section of the road can be very rugged and narrow and places and is suitable for high clearance vehicles only. Slate Peak Trailhead can be reached by continuing past Harts Pass for 2.7 miles.
FACILITIES
Parking space for several vehicles and a vault toilet. No potable water. Bring water. The Harts Pass Campground is located a short distance away.
ACTIVITIES
Hiking, backpacking, horseback riding. Wilderness regulations apply.
PASSES
$5 per vehicle per day, or a Recreation Pass may be used as a form of fee payment.
RESTRICTIONS
No trailers allowed. Road numbers 5400 and 700 are closed to trailers June 1 – December 31 (road is very narrow)
