Project Description

Members of the Spokane Mountaineers are invited to join the PNTA for an exclusive group work party event. (Note: Waitlist registration is available for the general public, too!)

During this trip we will work together on restoring one of the feeder trails that approach the PNT on the Kettle Crest. Most likely, we will work on the Barnaby Buttes Trail 007 in the southwest corner of the Kettle River Range. Barnaby Buttes Trail is the recommended route for PNT users riding horseback (an alternative to a hazardous bushwhack descent from Edds Mountain), and has potential to become part of the official PNT route.

The Barnaby Buttes Trail has been overlooked for years and has received the bare minimum of annual log out maintenance. It is overdue for some TLC, and a work party here could make a huge difference.

We may cover a lot of ground on this trip, but we’ll be sure to pace ourselves for a good time. After spending rewarding days on trail, enjoy relaxing evenings in camp while your PNTA crew leaders prepare dinner.

No trail crew experience is necessary: the PNTA provides tools, personal protective equipment, and training. Just bring yourself, your camp gear and daypack, and a thirst for a rewarding weekend on the trail! See Resources (below) for Frequently Asked Questions and packing recommendations.
