Atlas Guides App for the PNT

The Official Hiking Guide App for the PNT

The Pacific Northwest Trail Association is proud to announce our partnership with Atlas Guides. We teamed up to develop a new smartphone hiking guide to the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail.

Guthooks Guide to the Pacific Northwest Trail

Guthook Guides, an Atlas Guides project, are detailed, map-based smartphone hiking guides for your favorite long-distance trails, created by a team of seasoned long-distance backpackers.

The official hiking app of the Pacific Northwest Trail Association will be available before the 2018 season with the same features and performance hikers and riders have trusted to navigate six other National Scenic Trails since 2012.

Available for iPhone and Android devices, the new smartphone guide app will be produced in collaboration with the PNTA to reflect the latest changes to our dynamic trail corridor. This powerful new tool will aid in the navigation of the Pacific Northwest Trail when used along with our free, PNTA strip maps. And a portion of every sale will help support the PNTA.

Even experienced backpackers are surprised by how challenging it can be to follow the Pacific Northwest Trail. At this early stage of development, most of the PNT is not marked, and the correct combination of paths is usually not obvious. The new Guthook Guide will help hikers and riders stay found on the PNT, but no technology can replace real navigation skills. The PNTA strongly recommends carrying multiple navigation tools and having the knowledge to use them to traverse the Pacific Northwest Trail.

The official hiking app of the Pacific Northwest Trail Association will be available for iPhone and Android devices in 2018.
